Default Is it just this hard to find a shop or do i expect to much. .

If you have read some of my post you know i have a 96 cobra that I have been working on. I had a clutch installed and after that had a vibration. Took it back to that shop and they said it was nothing they did. Took it to another shop and they said the tranny needed rebuilt. Said they would pull it and everything for about 750 so I had them do it. During the process they find out the main shaft was bent and the fly wheel was not resurfaced with in spec. So after the extra cost end up paying 1100 bucks. (Which I'm not happy about because i could of got a rebuilt tranny.) I get it back and there is still a nosie when letting out the clutch and a veribration when I get inbetween 900-1000. I'm I just inspecting to much or is it this hard to find a good shop?

I just needed to rant. Man I did a poor job of it my grammar/spelling was very bad. I would just hope for 1100 dollars all the issue would be solved since they told me it was all related. But I guess not now.

It is frustrating to pay people alot of $ and they don't care. I have found that everyone turns into a genius when they are getting screwed, but they turn back into a dumbass when it comes to others getting screwed. It seems lately that I am upset anytime I pay for someone elses help, because they mess something up. I could easily mess up the job on my own and be unhappy, why should I pay someone else to make me unhappy.

Good Luck

Thats my exact thought. When I was going to do the clutch I did not want to end up breaking anything and costing me more money. Looks like the wrong choice.

sorry to hear. Some shops are good and you take your buisness back and some suck so bad and for me, i let others know. I would still go back to that shop and tell them to fix it cause that's what you paid for them to do. i would hassle them till they did. call the BBB on them and make sure to tell others on how they don't care about your car, just the money. sometimes if you go to the online phone book, you can write a review, i would do that to. make it known for everyone not to take their car there for any work. again, sorry to hear. i'm super picky on who touches my car. i do around 95% of the work but when it's something i might not have time for, i shop around and ask friend. goodluck on the fix and hopefully you get it fixed for free.

Yes sorry to hear about your experience. I have found very good luck with pure racing shops specifically for mustangs and fords. I don't know if you ever heard of johnny lightning? Anyways I took my car to his shop expecting to have some major work done to it because I could not figure out what was wrong with it. I went back a couple weeks later to pick my car up and ended up paying 100 bucks for a couple small things he did. Ended up just being something very simple that his experience and professionalism picked up. He could have very easily ripped me off for who knows how much money... but thank goodness he was trustworthy. Not to mention this guy has a lightning that runs high 7's I believe... the last thing he is going to want to be messing with is my little 94 cobra...
