Default What would you do with a blown engine?

Short version below!
I have a 1999 Cobra that I did "the swap" and put a 2003 Cobra supercharger and many other parts on. I did the swap 2 years ago but, the engine now has a broken ring and is being pulled out as we speak. I am putting in a complete 2001 Cobra engine and not planning on putting the supercharger back on. Now I will be left with a 99/03 hybrid Cobra engine that I don't know what to do with. It is a complete engine and would have all the parts for needed to supercharge a 99/01 Cobra. Of course the ideal answer would be to rebuild it and put it back in my car. However, I am engaged and expecting a baby in September, so I don't see spending that kind of money in the near future. Since rebuilding is out of the question, I am left with two options. Part it out or try to sell a blown engine. Most of the parts used to do the swap are brand new. I bought what I thought was everything I needed on ebay (supercharger, injectors, throttle body, and heat exchanger) and quickly found out it was not. So I went to Ford and bought the timing cover, intake, intercooler, fuel pump, oil cooler, MAF, intercooler pump, water pump, alternator, etc. All of these parts have less than 500 miles on them. As you can see, I have a lot of money tied up in this car, and I would like to get as much back as possible.

Short version:
Would you sell a blown engine "as is" or part it out? The engine is an original 1999 Cobra with all the parts, including supercharger, from a 2003 Cobra.

You say the motor is blown. What's wrong with it. Cracked block, spun bearings, cracked heads.....?

Haven't actually taken it apart, but 3 mechanics say broken piston ring. Car still runs, just smokes a lot.

If that is it the motor is completely rebuildable and you would be able to sale it.

yeah, I'd sell it as a blown complete engine, less work and probably a better option as someone who wants to do what you did would have a complete package and could swap their block

oh by the way, I have one of the new 2.1 Kenne Bell big bore superchargers on my 1996 cobra and it is completely fabulous...unreal smoothness and power...what the car should have been all along...a much better option for getting one of the older 4.6 dohc cobras up to modern par...

If you still have the original parts, for the 99 engine I would sell it that way. Sell it as a blown 99 engine, and part out the rest. You'll probably get more money, for it selling it that way if all it is, is a broken ring, Mike SCT Tuner.
