Question Faking Cobras or any other cars

I was reading a tread today can't find it now. Someone was asking if it was a wrong to put a cobra snake on there V6 mustang? Just about everyone said not to do it witch I agree with totally. Now this is just my Opinion but I hate the idea of putting any badge on a car that it’s not and that goes for clones! (I know I’m going to piss some people off but that’s my thoughts on that) If you changed everything on your car to Cobra it still is not a Cobra! Period. I have been lucky I have a original 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7. I could have put a 390 big block in it and said it was a XR7 GT 390 and no one would have been the wiser. But it’s not. I got lucky and got a 1998 Mustang Cobra and love it. I now it makes me mad when I see a FAKE Cobra or anything that’s not what it says it is. Sorry if I step on some toes but be happy with what you have. Just been thinking about this a little and I would like to hear your thoughts on this.

+1 to that man. The other day I was driving home and I saw a sn v6 stang with cobra badges on it. It did not have dual exhaust and was running 2 spare tires. I couldn't believe my eyes. I stayed right next to them for as long as possible just glaring, but still being a safe driver It is really annoying when people do that though. Unless you buy it as a cobra its not a cobra.

+2

my car has duals like a GT
it has fogs like a GT
it has a hood scoop like a GT
it looks just like a GT ( not hard to do on teh 197's )
but the badges on my scoop clearly say 245 (and only badges on my car)

i dont claim it as a gt, i love the looks of the lights and scoop. and im satisfied with my sixer!

anyone who puts GT badges on a sixer, or cobras on a gt or sixer, is just ashamed of what they are. not happy with what they have, and envy everyone who has a nicer car than them

I agree with you... To an extent. If a car is 100% cloned... Then I consider it what is says it is.

I.E.

Take a 2005+ V6
Swap engine for 5.4 L GT500
Upgrade interior
Upgrade exterior
Upgrade suspension
Etc.

Then you have a GT500. Thats like... Hm... Dying an egg red but saying its not red and still white. Idk... Lol

But yeah... No fake symbols on cars. I don't think he was trying to say his V6 was a gt500. He just thought the snake looked cool, and technically the snake doesn't mean he wanted it to appear to be a Gt500.

If you put one of these on your car, does that mean it won't officially be a transformer?

Hey, at least we can all install Transformer decals on our cars and put in a power outlet plug that says "TRANSFORM" and have REAL Tranformers! (Not clones, cuz they have all the parts. And aren't ricey!!!)

ppl around here are amazed when they hear my car is just a sixer

i guess it takes a stang owner to know the difference.

thats why i put the 245 on it. bold move

it says hey, i admit im a six, but im still ready to roll!

now that i think about it GT really means more power over base

alot of forien cars are sixers and are GT's as well as domestic cars, like the grand am,

so can you really break gt down to a sub group? like X amoount of power over base, not what it looks like?

example a gt car is something with 100 more hp over stock or something or bigger motor

gt stang is 4.6 over 4.0

gt grand am and celica V6 over I4

ect ect..anyone else get that or does it only make since to me because ive been up 22 hours?

I get what your saying, when I bought my 94 Cobra in the back of my mind I was hoping the past owner didn't just put a couple emblems on it and switch some things to say Cobra. I bought a VIN# book though and luckily she is definitely a Cobra
