Just purchased a 1995 SVT Cobra

hey all what goin on, i just bought a 95 Cobra.. black with black leather and all that good stuff. the car is all original and has 196k miles and runs beautiful (1 owner)... im thinking most of you would puke if you heard the unbeleivable price i got it for.. it needs a trans since the one its got in it is missing 2nd gear and the clutch is pretty bad too.. the guy i got this car from says that he rebuilt the motor but i dont have any receipts yet for that.. he originaly sold the car to me as a parts car since he didnt have a title (thats a very long story im not even gonna touch yet) but im in the process of gettin a title for it right now... i bought the car with the intentions of parting it out but i dont have it in me to do that, iv fallin in love with the car (been doin a whole lot of research on this car and have hardly been able to sleep at night cause all i can think about is this car)... i know it may not mean that much to other people but, just the thought that i own a REAL SVT Cobra, no matter how much HP its got or how fast it can go, gets my goin.. yeah shes got lots of miles on her and she needs a bunch of work but shes a pure bread Cobra and that alone is worth it to me

She looks like she needs some work, but if it means alot to you and something you want to restore back to looking great, then i would def go for it. It has the potential, just needs some TLC and she'll look great again. unless you get receipts, i wouldn't beleive the person about the rebuild. There is something about having an SVT Cobra, so i know what you mean.

yeah i dont think it was rebuilt even tho it does run really good and the hasnt lied to me about anything yet since it does have a super chip he said it had and a new exaust... another thing he said that i have yet to find out is that its push 375 horse and hes got dyno sheets to prove it... unless i go have it dynoed myself i find that really hard to beleive since it got a pretty quiet exaust on it and it doesnt really sound like theres a cam it.... ill let you all know as the story unfolds tho

all it says on it is Super Chip and its got a ford symbol on it.. im guessing that Super Chip would be the brand?? maybe.. cars got alot of balls, i do know that

oh well dang....pro wouuldnt sell that chip out of it would u lol.... but yea your car can be pretty bad if u do it rite i only paid 4g for mine like it is but it didnt hve that many miles like u got on yours but if u do it rite u'll be happy with wat u do to it.

Look at the motor mounts, if they look like they are stock with no marks you can be sure that engine has never been out of the car...as far as I can see, it is bone stock right down to the factory airbox, hard to get 375 hp out of a 302 without extensive mods or a supercharger...just stay with it and fix one thing at a time, then smile the next time you see a sweet Cobra and know the owner probably spent alot of blood, sweat and money on it.

375 horsepower seems like alot with all stock stuff on the top end and stock air box, like mentioned. It could have a cam and heads but you never know, maybe they were wanting that stock look, though it would be starving for air, i would think. I know the Cobra intake flows good but there's better out there. I had alot of stuff on my 95GT 302 just to make 300rwhp, not including the 125 shot though.
Having a superchip makes me think it was possibly dyno tuned. If you would have said JET chip, i would think junk, but my Saleen was dyno tuned with a superchip. I wouldn't remove it though. I would get a dyno to just to see how she runs, rwhp, and A/F looks like. that will give you the bigger picture.
