looking to buy 03 or 04 Cobra

I am looking to purchase an 03 or 04 Cobra. I am not really up on any issues that these cars may have. Any tips on things to look for in order to give myself a better chance of buying a good, reliable Cobra is appreciated.

welcome to the site. like with any car, make sure you look around! a steal is just one click or phone call away. I dont know of any known issue with the 03 04 cobra. look at the supercharger pully and see if it is worn. About all i can say. good luck! post pics when u buy!

I was you a couple months ago. I looked on craigslist everyday for about 3 months and I finally found my cobra. It was an 03 sonic blue, payed 25,000 with only 3200 miles no typo. If you want to find a good one I suggest you look at the driver, a lot of people like to abuse this car so finding one with a "safe" and old owner would probably be a plus but either way these cars are built to last.

I totally agree about looking at the driver. Hopefully I can find one for sale by a 90 year old lady. I also want to find one that is not modified in any way. From reading this forum I think this might be hard to find. I did find a dealer in VA that has like 9 of them on the lot. They have an 03 with 26,000 miles for $21,900. Sounds like a great deal if the car is in good shape.

I found mine on "yahoo auto search" search mustang, then input 03 to 04, then type in "svt" there are 150 or so for sale around the continental US.
Not an easy car to find, so good luck!

There ya go in joy! I got into a cobra last July- no looking back man! Main thing I will say is feel for Vibration at 60-65 and 80-90mph. Only problem I had to address.
