96 - 98 cobra mileage

hey guys, so im still looking for a cobra and i was wondering how long these engines usually last. i hate looking at my odometer and seeing 100k+ miles. how long do you think one with low 100k would last me as a daily driver?

a long, long time...the old 100K is really a thing of the past, my 1996 has over 150K on it and it drives like new, even put a Kenne bell supercharger on it last summer...the engines are basically bullet proof...get a new paint job and zoom zoom off you go

so i found a 96 mystic with 109k. everything was very well kept and the car looks great. $8500 sound right?

for a mystic, it sounds right. If they've been taken care of and you take care of it and do the proper maintenance on it, it can last for a long time like mentioned, though anything can happen at anytime.

Those engines were assembled by the best engine techs Ford has. If you did your part by keeping it maintenenced and didn't wing the wee out of it at every stoplight, it will serve you well.

117k on firts set of plugs and wires, new plugs and wires filters,
new car!

so i take it im safe buying a cobra with a little over 100k. as long is i check out the previous owner and see how well they took care of it.

I've kept meticulous records on mine. The oil has never turned black. I change it while it's still honey colored. I'm not unique. The Cobra is a car I always wanted so I take extra special care of it. It's easy to tell the guys who love them from the ones who beat the snot outa them. Try and find an original owner and and have a chat. Still get a carfax.
