Default 03 cobra coupe or 04 cobra vert

Im thinking of getting a cobra, my choice is 03 coupe with 34k for 23k or a 04 vert with 54k for 17k. Is it worth 5k more for a coupe? Does the coupe have that much better quarter mile time? They are both bone stock and in excellent condition.

id show him the price of the both cobars, and tell him your getting one. if you like the coupe more see if hell drop the price some. either way you got one really nice car coming

The coupe has less miles, but the verts were stickered higher. As far as value goes, go to ( NADA.com ) and check the value of both cars with mileage. Then go to ( KBB.com ) there you will be able to check, Private Party Value which will come in lower then Retail Value and sometimes Trade In Value. As far as which one to buy, that's a personal preference but due to the problems associated with the 03'S I would most likely go with the 04 Vert. Seeing as they were revised, in 04 and the fact that never buy the first year they make any changes to a model. You always let them get the bugs out of it, the second year is usually the best. As far as the track is concerned, the coupe is a lighter car but I wouldn't really want to beat on it at the track. Due to the fact, that boneyards across the nation are piled high with broken 03 and 04 Cobra IRS set-ups. The 03 - 04 Cobras were built, more for a road coarse they handle better in the corners due to the IRS. That's not a car, that was built to slide your left foot off the clutch at say 4500 - 6000 RPMS, Mike. SCT Tuner. Good Luck.

The 04 price sounds low to me for a vert in excellent condition.

What are you planning to use the car for? If you are going to do track events, the coupe would be a stiffer platform and better for track.

For occasional track use and if you like doing a lot of cruises then you might like the vert better. You could put in a removable roll bar for the track if you didn't want one installed all the time. All other things equal, I'd base it more on what you plan to use the car for and your personal preference between having a coupe or a vert. I would be sure the '03 had the head tick recall done if you decide to get it.

Welcome to the site. The 03 retail value is $20,000 and the 04 retail is $24,000. The convertable weights almost 500 pounds more.

the coupe can be raced any where the vert you would need a roll bar to race. If you are buying it for racing a few things to think about. i would like to have a vert but just for my special lady friend to drive around in it and look hot

I would go with the coupe. has 20K less miles. Might see how low they can go on it. Most 03 bugs were probably already fixed by the dealer, but the 04's had bugs too.
also i liked having my Saleen convert but on some days i hated it. If i could have a coupe and a convert, problem solved lol.
