Default Largest wheel tire for 2001

I am buying new wheels for me 2001 cobra. I am planning on getting 17 x 9 in the front and 17 x 10.5 in the back. What is the widest tire i can stretch over the rear? I also read that there is some obstruction from a bolt in the IRS if you got that big of a rim. I would like 305s if possible Can anyone provide info?

With those rims you can get 315's. They sell the bolt swap at americanmuscle.com Just goes to a more low profile/rounded head so it doesn't rub on the tire. some use wheels spacers too.

ya i agree with the guy above 315's are about as wide as u can go without rubbing and having the tire stick out beyond the wheel well

Well you need to consider that if you have staggered widths, you cannot rotate the tires anymore...now if you have alot of money full speed ahead, also if you go too far past stock you will risk making the car handle squirrely...
