will a O/R H pipe that bolts directly to a stock 1996-1998 mustang gt, bolt on to a 1997 cobra?

Yes, all headers and mid-pipes are interchangeable between 96-04 Cobra's and GT's. They only exhaust difference is in the tail section.

That post above is flat out not so...the engines are completely different from cobra to GT so the headers and h pipes are different at a minimum...don't go cheap, buy what is made for you car..I have BBK long tubes and hi flow cats on my 96, awesome upgrade...

Yeah the 2V and 4V heads use different headers but I think the H-Pipes have the same dimensions, obviously the Catback won't fit cause the 99-04 Cobras have IRS!

My apologies..... thats what I get for reading then running..... Headers are different, but Mid-pipes are the same....

I myself also wanted to know if this was true ? In the middle my 2v - 4v swap, and was hoping to re-use my o/r GT H-pipe. The aftermarket list's different part #'s on their Cobra an GT mid pipe's, so I'm all confrused

If the headers and engine are different wouldn't it make sense the H-pipe would be different? I'd get long tubes and matching h pipe since this is the ideal time to put them in...make sure you put good motor mounts in too...good luck
