These cars get over 110mph in third gear, shouldn't be a problem in the one your looking at since it probably has the later heads. That car is a beauty, I love it!

Thanks, daboyho! Should I look for anything else on this car? COuld this possibly be the last Cobra built for 2004 since it has such a late build?

BTW, how would I know if this engine has the revised heads or not?

Did you call FordSVT to get that build date or did they show you the cert on it? I thought the builds stopped in Mar 04.

Some info....

Changes were mainly limited to color and trim. New exterior paint offerings for 2004 were Torch Red (re-introduced after being discontinued mid-year on the 2003), Screaming Yellow and Competition Orange. An optional Mystichrome package with an exterior paint treatment that changes color when viewed from different angles was offered for 2004. Inside the Mystichrome Cobra, the leather seat inserts and the steering wheel cover also shift colors. Interior wise, the 2004 Charcoal Gray seating added dark gray inserts. 2003's were lighter gray. Other differences:
* The 2003 radio decks came with an AUX 20 pin port in the back and the '04 had the SAT button.
* The door lock on the drivers side on '03 Cobras were black, 04 Cobras were chrome
* The 2004 the cats were bigger
* The 2003 had a small interior headliner cargo net. It was deleted for 2004.
* The computer codes were different between the model years


+1 about the heads being revised in 2005 and came on the crate motors or you bought them. There is a right way for a boost bypass and a wrong, what they have in the pic is the wrong way to do it. so go svtperformance.com and type boost bypass and you'll find stuff about it.
The cars don't like hitting full boost in 5th and 6th gear over and over again. People will do high end runs in 5th and 6th several times, produces alot of heat, and their motor pops. Here and there won't be so bad but not back to back to back.

the car looks really good but i've seen some 04's about the same price and 20K miles less. There are some 03's out there that are super nice, low miles and same price.

Too late. I picked it up yesterday for 18k. Borla exhaust, intake, new tires, new top, all and all great shape. Really ugly rims (ordered factory ones today)Car pulls great. BTW build date is 02/04.

When it it cleaned up I will post up some pics.
