Cool Looking at a 2004 Mustang Cobra

I came across a 2004 Cobra, I had the Oasis report done on it. Out the door I can get it for $21,017.50. The car has 60,400 miles on it. I also had the carfax report done on it too, and it's never been in a accident. I'm going to put up a site for the oasis report. What exactly is the main difference between the 2003 and 2004's? Was there anything discontinued or changed throughout the 2004 model year? For example are there some 2004 cobras with a clock and some 2004 cobras without a clock?

Anything I need to look out for when I drive down to LA? Anything I need to know about while test driving the car? Also, is this a good price for this car?

Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated. By the way can anyone tell me about the oasis report I got for the third site listed here? Does it look like normal wear and tear warranty work or anything more serious?

Thanks guys!

He brought the car down to 20,495.00

Out the door it's 21,017.50 with taxes, title, license fee, emissions fee, dealer service fee (waived $300) and the rest of the other fees.

Still too high?

I booked the car out on KBB and it came to 23,350

The price really isn't too bad, I'd try to talk it down a little. Have the compression tested in the cylinders, listen for the infamous head tick after it's nice and warm. Check for all the common things such as looseness when shifting, noise from the rear end. And have a full inspection done at a shop not related to the dealer. There are some major differences between the 03-04 Cobra's. However, you probably won't notice any. BTW it was the drivers side head that had the common tick since the cooling system started on the passenger side and ended on the driver side, sometimes ending in overheating the 7&8 cylinders, causing the tick. another FYI should you buy your cobra. These engines do NOT take well to many high speed runs.

see if they'll throw in an extended warranty...there are a ton of those cars on ebay, so don't fall for the first pretty face you see

The 04 was programmed differen't to get around emissions, some 04's had the head revision, 04's are satellite radio capable. Other than that just small stuff like the above head sunglass holder. Of coarse the added colors in 04. I know there is one other emissions part I'm leaving out. . .

The car was built on June, 13th, 2004.. Is that a late build.. Which would mean that it has the heads revised?

Why do you say that these engines dont like running high speed? 130+ mph? What Modular engines do?

That car will most definitely will have the 9 thread heads but not the Jan 05 Revisions with better cooling passages on the drivers side Head! 03-04's had 2 different sets put on them, and the 05 Heads showed up on crate motors etc..

So then I should have nothing to worry about when it comes to the engine??

I can see that in the pictures of the engine the boost bypass has been modified to this car.. Can't this be a bad thing?
