I came across a 1998 Cobra that was made for Canada, it was manufactured in March of 1998. What are the differences between a Canadian Cobra and an American Cobra? I've done a search on here and it says that this car should have daytime running lights, block heater, etc. How rare is a Canadian Cobra? Are these less "detuned"? Would I have any problems if I wanted to add more modifications to it compared to an American Cobra made here for the states? Here is the carfax.
I've included pictures of it on here. I'm not too fancy about the "chrome" interior, but I'll fix that. Also, the engine in the picture looks all stock and on the carfax the oil was changed about every 3-4k miles. I've bee told that the previous owner did some transmission work to it and that it pulls real hard. It also has an aftermarket exhaust system set up on it. If I don't like it, then I'll change that. Should I be concerned about the transmission?
Nice looking car. I thought they all had rear spoilers but maybe not. Not sure it the wheels are correct and it's had the bling UPR interior treatment and obligtory snake in the grill. I really doubt there is anything different from a U.S. Cobra. Is the KPH larger than the MPH? It says it conforms to Federal standards. Sounds like U.S. to me. The engine looks externally like a good old 305 horse modular. I can't imagine Coletti going out of his way for Canada. SVT's were speciality cars and sold well enough in this country. I also can't imagine mods being any different. I could also be wrong.

Do you think this car was made for american markets but was just exported to Canada because of a buyer from Canada wanted it? (In other words, wouldnt have the block heater, drl's, etc.?)
Nice looking car. I thought they all had rear spoilers but maybe not.
I know on the 99 Cobra, one of the few options was a wing delete. Really the only other option I know of was the "smoking package" Which was an ashtray for the cup holder.

If it was sold throught a Canadian Ford dealer they might have made it meet their new car standers by added a block heater and wired the lights to always be on and etc. Would not be a big deal. The transmission in any car could go bye-bye so I would not worry about it.
So, then is this a canadian or american cobra, Pliskin?
I just went through my 10 years of SVT book I got with my cobra and didn't see any reference to a Canadian Cobra. Dealers can install whatever they want. I just got back from having a remote start installed in the wife's new Milan by a Ford dealer. I'm leaving myself a way out on this because no sooner than I say there was no such thing someone will produce documentation of a rare Argentian Cobra with the ultra rare rear tissue dispenser option.

I thought the speedo was different but not sure. nothing else really different at all. Also it's not hard to have a Cobra and move to Canada later to trade or sell it in Canada. Plus like mentioned, it'll be the dealership that does whatever to it that it needs.
I don't like those aftermarket rims though. the stock 98's look 10X's better.

From your carfax, it looks like it was imported from the US to Canada. Then exported back here. So it originated here, and was taken over there. Doesn't look like it was specifically made for Canada.
