Default Rebuilt 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT Motor

Hello Everyone,
I haven't been on in awhile. Kinda disappointed, my motor went out and now I'm trying to get it rebuilt. Can anyone tell me about how much this is going to cost me roughly? My motor only had like 78,000 miles on it and I'm looking for mileage around that area. Please hit back with some estimates if you've had your motor rebuilt. Thanks in advance!

I'd do a Forged Rebuild, if the cylinder sleeves are nice an smooth I wouldn't Bore them just use standard size pistons.
If you have any questions PM me, your can see my motor in the Sig!
What was the cause of the engine failure? bad bearing?

You changed your oil and forgot to put it back in till 2-3 weeks later?
Talking about forged internals like pistons, rods, etc. But even a forged setup can crap out with no oil, same as having no blood in your body.
Sorry to hear and hope you having it running soon...

No, it was time for an oil change and i did it three weeks later than the date it was supposed to be done. It started clicking, but never started smoking. The mechanics said it was the rods gone.

That doesn't make sense. . . I haven't changed the oil in my 95 GT in almost a year (bought the stuff to do it just the other day though). You were three weeks late for a 3k oil change? Engines these days can run 8k+ without an oil change. Not that I would recommend it in a nice car. Something else happened. . .

i'm thinking the same, something else crapped out. I know they've test some syn oils up to 9K miles before it broke down. I would call around for estimates since all builders will be different.

The only way I know that your heads are "gone" is if you blew the head gasket on both side and warped them badly. That doesn't sound like you. There is no way on earth changing your oil 3 weeks late ruined your engine. Sounds like if you have a knock and that's it, you could get it rebuilt pretty cheap. Maybe even just rebuild the head that's ticking.

Im thinking he either sabatoged your car, and is filling you full of BS, or is filling you full of BS without messing with your car, we need more info, Does it run still? What does it do when it runs? Surge? Idle strong? Piss and kick and slap s**t all over? Fill us in on all the details!
