What mods to start with on stock 1998 Mustang cobra
I have an all stock 98 cobra....im thinking of getting the JLT rai first. then getting the MSD coilpacks, since i've been hearing they give pretty good mid range torque......any ideas where to start off at?????? please help.
i think ria is cia cold air is always good, thien the standered cat back, underdrive pulleys, trottle body, plenum, ect bolt ons will take day to list. U can start really anywere, what ever fits ur budget is always the best place to start.
Get a catback exhaust system (mandrel bent tube) Then get an off-road H or X pipe if you don't have emission laws. I have an off-road H on my 1996 Cobra. Very easy to install too! And maybe... nitrous. My 1996 has a Zex Wet nitrous kit!

I don't think you'll be winning any National Spelling Bee Contests!
By all means get that stock midpipe off your car and upper intake work is a good thing to do with the 98's!
Depending your budget, you can probably save the CAI money and just put a K/N filter in your box...use it for suspension upgrades...subframe connectors are a huge improvement in overall feel and ride...get that car lowered too...shocks/springs are a must have, the stock fender gap is rediculous...after that work on the power upgrades...I found new upper and lower rear control arms are well worth the money, they help with the "hook"...good luck, have fun.

Since you're in LA, i would hold off on the offroad h or x pipe. The RAI and Catback would be a great place to start for performance. I would hold off the MDS coil packs. Maybe a tune up if you haven't done that yet or don't know when the last one was done.
