On a Cobra you may not find many miles, because most of us have a second car. Most don't drive them in inclimate weather, now for a GT that may be a different story. I own a 1996 SVT Cobra Convertible, which only has 55,187 original miles on the clock now. All the cars that I own, that one has the most mileage on it. I have some with 7,000 original miles on them, but none over the mileage stated above. If your wondering how many miles they will take, before any problems that depends on how well you maintain them, Mike.SCT Tuner.
I have well over 150,000 on my 1996 cobra, the odometer broke years ago at 121,000, and I drive it all the time, it was my only car for years, the engine is perfect and even supercharged a year ago...it would not surprise me to hear of million mile engines someday...btw I've always run Mobil 1 full synthetic in it

There used to be a guy who posted on here with an 03 with well over 200K. It might be the guy Brutal knows. I remember thinking back during the 4-5 dollar a gallon gas that he must have an oil well to feed it. Mine just has 24K. I'm sure with regular maintenance they can go a long time. Ford thought enough about it to put their best engine builders on them and have them stamp their name in the valve covers. Those guys were the best engine guys at Ford with the most experience and their reputations were on the line.

Well even with $4.50/gal gas driving my PAID OFF cobra is cheaper per mile than driving a Prius...I'm amazed at how no one seems to consider their overall cost per mile once price/insurance/depreciation are factored in...I heard you have to drive a Prius 400,000 miles to see any monetary gain. The cost to finance one alone makes it a no brainer not to have one.
And oh yeah people the cars are made to be DRIVEN !!! Met a 75 year old guy at a car show last weekend, had a 2007 Pace Car Corvette convertible with 325 miles on it...I guess he thinks there aren't any in heaven and is taking his with him.

Cars that should be driven by ULTRA FLAMBOYANT MEN(Hint Hint)
1. Mazda Miata (Of Course) Anybody see the movie "GO" haha!
2. New Generation VW Beetle (no Explanation needed)
3, Toyota Prius (Give me a fricken break) I'll rock a Yugo before I get behind the wheel of that Jap Piece of Shiatch!!
Of course it's cheaper to drive a paid off car than buy a new one...go figure that the sales tax alone on a $30,000 Pieceoshi?us, would be $2100 in Florida so you'd have to drive the car for years just to recoup the sales tax alone, not to mention your yearly tag fee will be way higher since it's appraised at a higher value than a 10 year old Stang, I think my Stangs are about $50/year each.

Just for grins, my buddy has a '97 Cobra triple-black Vert (twin to my '01 Cobra) with just 6000 miles on it. At that rate, it should be good for several owners over a few generations !!!

I got a 97 Cobra with 117k, just made a cross country trip and got 26-27 mpg. Seattle to Pittsburgh. This was driving through Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah which are all up and down in the mountains. Then i drove across the plains. Not bad. i have the standard bolt-ons with an o/r x-pipe. About to recondition most of it and get a daily driver, as i wanna keep the Cobra for a looooong time.
I had another Ford run forever though. 93 Taurus with the 3.8 @ 215k miles. She ran strong and shifted perfect (i was 18 and drove it hard) until my mom gave her away and the guys wife flipped it 2 weeks later. hoping to pick another one with that same engine/body. won the car of the year back in 86' and was considered one of the best cars ever built.
sorry to fill this with Taurus talk, but it is one of the best cars i have ever witnessed. Bottom line is, good maintenance and you can have one run forever, unless if it is a Chevy, that is.
Yeah my Dad's Crown Vic 4.6 had over 200K miles on it when he sold it...it never had any repair except tune ups...not even an A/C compressor!
