Default 1997 Mustang cobra driveline overhaul

Hey guys,

Just made a nice little investment on some parts for the driveline. Give ya a quick rundown and see what you think. i did my research from what i saw on these forums and various other websites, along with input from Mike at Wolfpack Speed in Pittsburgh. Here we go:

- RAM Billet Flywheel
- RAM HDX Clutch
- Fiore Firewall adjustor
- Steeda Quick release quadrant
- not positive what these things are, but little carbon fiber clutches inside of the tranny. he said he had some lyin around and said it is a good idea with the mileage of my car (115k).
- Royal Purple tranny fluid
- Steeda tri-ax
- FRPP Alum driveshaft
- rear end housing rebuild
- Ford 4.10's with RP lube
- Full length subframe connectors.

Should free up some power and make it a fun ride in some traffic. hopin for smoother, shorter shifts with less effort, and of course, more speed. Anyone have a simliar combo?

Thanks!

97' White Cobra, 115k
Bought it stock w/ strut tower brace
Added C&L 80 MM MAF/CAI, Steeda Underdrive pulleys, NGK plugs, Magnaflow o/r x-pipe, Magnaflow "Magnapack" cat-back, and an SCT tuner w/o tune.

Best car i ever owned:
93' Ford Taurus given away by my mother when i got my liscense suspended. It had 215k and would do e-brake slides and burnouts like you would not believe. speedometer showed 85, got it to about 110.

I have a similar combo.
McCleoud HD Clutch
Aluminum Flywheel
FRPP Aluminum Driveshaft
FRPP clutch cable
Steeda Firewall adjuster
Kenny Brown Full Length Sub-frame connectors
Stock Gears
I noticed better throttle response when I rev the engine. I also noticed a somewhat smoother driveline feel. The only negative is I have to give it a little more gas to get moving. It's hard to describe but you will have to rev it a little more off the line to keep from boggin. This is due to the lighter flywheel mass. The old noddular flywheel was much heavier so it takes a little more effort to get everything moving togeather. But it revs more freely. It just takes a little getting used to thats all.
Enjoy and keep me posted on how you like the 4.10 gears. I am considering that one myself.

thanks for the reply. i think the big difference is the alum flywheel between me and you. from what i hear, that makes a huge difference is driveability and how quick it revs. one bad, but the other i like. i am hoping the billet is right in the middle.
Also, i love the wheels on your Cobra. i was thinking about getting the S-Style from AM, but you may have changed my mind. where do you get the Cobra centercaps?

Thanks for the compliment. I bought the wheels way back in May 06'. At the time they came with the wheels as either Cobra emblems or the mustang emblem. I heard that shortly there after, Ford began to sue any company selling anything with the cobra or mustang on. So I got lucky.
I think you will like your new set-up. Enjoy!
