Go mild since the compression is high maybe 6-8 lbs. If you have high mileage it might be worth it to change the compression closer to 8.5/1. Or look for an 03-04 motor on ebay. It would probably cheaper. I saw one about a month ago sell for $3,500. It only had 30,000 miles on it!

Putting in an 03-04 Motor will cost a lot, even if you get the motor cheap. Not to mention the nightmare you will have getting everything in right, modifying, and getting it to run correctly after all of that. It's just plain not worth it. I'd just rebuild with forged internals, better heads and cams, and boost the hell out of it
