I need a Cobra and quick

I am honestly thinking about getting a Cobra.Not a brand new one cause frankly I done went and test drove a 04 and oh my god that is the fastest car I have ever laid into.I test drove a C5 Vette at the Nissan dealorship the sameday a trade in of cource and I thought it had balls.Year right the Cobra has it owned.I dont like the axle hop though and its a ***** to take off but other then that I feel inlove.Sucky thing is though someone rode with me from the dealor.

.But screw getting a brand new one cause man they wont come down on jack on the thing and it seems I would be better off getting a used one and putting money in it.Now the reason I am wanting a Cobra and have been looking into getting one is I was in Gatlenburg up here in Tennessee and there was a Cobra show about a 2 weeks ago and I got my ass handed to me not once not twice but three freaking times by Cobras.Got beat id say about 13 car lenths bye a 03 going there.Got beat by a couple 96-98s that were spraying.It just kinda of sucked being surrounded bye 140 some odd Cobras.I test drove a 96 last wednesday and to tell you the truth my 03 GT feels stronger and id say I could take it.I am thinking about 01.Never drove one and am wondering how they compare to a 03 GT.I mean is it really worth it trading in.Is it that much faster.I might just go for an 03 used.I dont know.I will just be damed if I have another Cobra owner to look at my car and say its just a GT.

Have you looked into the Mach 1? It has a straight axle and a 32v motor. the cams are borrowed from a avagator for low end torque. They are faster than the 99's and 01's and come with 3.55 gears whereas the 99/01's come with the 3.27's. You will still get beat by the 03/04 Cobra. They are fast out of the box and cheaply made even faster.

Mach 1 is a good alternative. If you can afford it...get the car you want, the 03/04 Cobra. No regrets...I love mine.

I want the new Cobra dont get me wrong but I just dont feel like paying that much for one.My girl would croke.But I have looked into getting a Mach 1.Who knows test drive might be all it takes.

If I dont go with the new 05 style, I'll be looking to get into an 03/04 Cobra.

What kind of price have you been getting on the 04 Cobra? There is a black one here in Calif. in the 30-35k range. I have been looking at it, but it doesn't look like it will be mine.

They have had a hard time selling it

I think it's becouse people are waiting for the 05's to get here

If u wait till end of August or September price will probably drop & theyll have some special on financing. Thats what im waiting for. If the wife gives me the o.k. They have a hard time selling it because of the economy. Im in the automotive bussiness and its pretty f**ked up lately everywhere. Hopefully its start picking up after i buy the 04 Cobra

That's my recommendation too. The Mach 1 wouldn't be bad either.

There is an 03 Cobra here in town with around 10k miles on it last I heard he was asking 28,000 for it.It's sonic blue and It's all I can do not to buy that fkr...

Oh one more thing, Mach 1's are nice but if you want a Cobra, and do not get one,your still gonna want one...

Be very careful buying a used cobra!!!!
Normally used is the only kind of car I buy(I'm a car guy)
But not this time ...
You can get nice Cobras used ........ but watch out for "pullied", "chipped", or just plain whooped on cars...
Keep it to cars with under 10k iif you can ..................sometimes cars with SUPER low mileage pop up....like under 6k...
Happy hunting!!.......... and do your self a favor and ........ Drive a Mach1 also...
Ultimately buy the best you can afford....
and a clapped out knocking, beat to death used cobra .... may be an inferior value to a "new" Mach1
That said........... a really nice used cobra would be

Like Jimmy said you can find good used cars. For example, when I traded my 02 GT for my 04 Cobra in late May, my GT(purchased brand new) only had 6200 miles on it. Only mod was a Tri-Ax shifter and was stored in the winter and never driven in the rain. Whoever bought my 02 GT is going to get a well taken cared for car. I wish I could of kept it along with the Cobra. Prices here in the Chicagoland for 04 Cobra's are still going for MSRP. Supply & Demand I guess?

hey with the mods I have now can I take a 01 Cobra.Cause I have heard that they are not that much faster then a GT.And if I cant how much can they actually beat a GT.Car lenths wise.I want a 01 Cobra bad.Just been wondering if there that much faster.

I really like the idea of a Cobra, but I still have a lot to learn about them. My curiosity isn't really working for me right now though because my resources are limited. I really only get a little while to be on the internet so I have to make it count.
