ive heard many things! one in hot rod magazine, may be postponed due to the postponing of the lightening. the reason it effected the cobra is that the both have a lot of the same parts. does anyone have a deffinite date?
i have an 03 cobra. love it. cant wait for the next generation one!
05 GT Redfire Metallic,IUP,Red Leather Accent Package,16lb aluminum rims ,Alarm with Remote Start,Eibach Progressive springs 1.3 front 1.7 rear,C & L intake, Diabalosport predator tune 91 octane A/F 12.5, SLP loudmouths,Modded run 13.88 @ 101.3mph

4:10's installed now but now new numbers.
D'OH!!!!! well, at least that gives us plenty of time to save up for the 07 cobra! i guess that's an upside to it.

You guys might check out the "SVT Gets More Funding" thread - there's info there.
Short answer - Ford promises a mid-06 release of a 07 model badged Cobra.
Long answer - Ford has officially shelved the Lightning, forced the 2 guys who MADE
SVT into retirement (Colleti and Theodore), promoted/transferred the younger engineers
out of SVT, cancelled the SVT Focus, transferred out the SVT sales guy (and gifted the job to the poor schmuck who is responsible for the lousey Jaguar sales in North America).
Cancelling the Focus SVT while simultaneously finally commiting to a major new presence in rally racing in Europe with the Focus is bizarre, to say the least. Some org. at Ford is going to be developing fast Foci, but its not going to be SVT.
Anyone besides me suspect that SVT is not long for this world and that Ford's promises regarding a new Cobra are questionable?

I concur, the SVT most grew up with is not going be the same. For good or ill, it is a transition.
