Default 99SVT Engine Knock

Seem to have engine knock when cold, starting at about 3000 rpm. Does not seem to be losing any power, or burning oil, and clears up when warm. I came from the Camaro side with the LS6 engine, this was an issue with that engine, (piston slap) but GM would go good for it up to 100,000 miles against burning oil or power loss. I know what caused it in the LS6, But is it an issue in the SVT's? I have also heard SVT is known to extend warranties in the engines because they are all hand built. Any truth to that, and if so can someone point me to the right direction????
