hey guys...im new to this forum =] i may be buying a 1997 Cobra very soon, going to look at it later today.....any tipss or advice? its gonna be my frist car ever!
Be very careful. A Cobra will get you wrapped around a pole faster than you can blink. If you feel the need to race, take it to a track, always always always take it to the track, there are no excuses at the track.
go for it bro. my first car was a stang too. 5 cars later (5 stangs later) and i still wouldn't consider anything else.

I looked at a 97 Cobra today. dealer wants $9995 as is. Seats look a bit worn. It has a cassete and cd player. 102,000 miles. Not too sure about it.
Sitting near it is a 2005 GT. Decisions, decisions. I can pay outright for the Cobra, but that milage worries me a little. I know very little about them.
DHG #01434 Bullitt - full JLT intake, MGW shifter, Accel coils (I wish I had 4.10s, o/r H, tune)
Black 89 LX(the drag car) best 8.75 at 80 mph in the 1/8
97 Mountaineer V8 AWD
I'm in no hurry though. The insurance company I beat in a work related suit asked for a number to settle. So I gave them one. Very cheap they are. No way I will ever get the number I wanted, but in theory they could end up paying me till I die.
I did see some nice 2001 Cobras I could live with. But hey, a Mach 1 would work too.
if yer going to shell out enough for a mach1, then why not just go for an 03 cobra?
unless you want the mach for the solid rear.

DON'T DO IT!!!! j/k I don't know exactly what your worried about as far as the mileage goes, but my 97 has 135K on it now. When I bought it, it had 118K. It was bone stock. I took it to get it dynoed to see what she would run and she pulled 261rwhp/ 260rwtq, a tad bit higher than what they are rated at from the factory. Don't worry about the motors unless you hear some strange noises or see problems. If it does make any noises I would stay away as these motors are very expensive to work on, no matter what the person tells you.
