I joined just to comment on this... You are way off on this quote. I have a '98 Trans-Am 6spd (not a WS6) . Exhaust, intake, and tune... I put down 348/362 wheels. Now if I had a later model WS6 T/A I'd have an LS6 intake manifold and a few extra ponies. So, all I would need are a couple more bolt-ons and I'd be at 375rwhp.
No Im right on with the quote. I had a 99 TA for 4 years and got it to 351 RWHP and it took alot of work and money. And an LS6 intake would not have added 25 RWHP. Which, what I said, was "it would take alot of work and money to get a LS1 to 375 RWHP".
And the 03/04 Cobra will get to 450 with just: catback, tune, pulley, and a CAI.
Less money and less work. That was my point.

as a mustang owner, i respect the 350, it is a good engine and can make a ton of horse with no power adders. mind you, the 03/04 cobras are SUPERCHARGED and are only a few tenths of a second faster stock than a all engine ws6 stock. Now if that ws6 owner slapped a s/c on it's a whole new story. plus you are all forgetting one important factor, that is the HUMAN FACTOR. you are throwing numbers out there but they mean nothing unless you have a good driver.
the only thing i have notice about the 03/04 cobras and ls1 is that the cobra engines can handle a lot more hp on the stock internals , so u say ill just throw a blower on my ws6 ha ive seen people just throw a blower or cam or w/e on a ls1 and the stock internals (rods, pistons, the guts basically) cant handle it and the motor goes....if u think i bs-ing i have 2 friends who own SS's one was a 00 and the other an 01, and one had a cam and full boltons the other maganacharged with spray both were very fast and put down a lot of hp but they both ended up throwing a rod eventually. they were both always tryin to keep up with my buddies whipple 03 cobra and well they blew there motors and hes on 24psi over 700hp on stock internals and still running strong.

I have a ss z28, and it is up for sale. I change plugs (with my brother) in my z28 and took 4 hours. It took 30 minutes in my cobra. The z28 rides like crap and the lt1 would lose to my corbra setup. Plus, I like these fords, so I can lose every day to a ls1, I still will not go back to a gm.
I have notice alot people with ta & camaro getting on this site raggin mustangs. Is this not a ford site? MTFA (all f-body site) would not put up that crap. They are some great guys, but I got bash on their site even mentioning purchasing a ford mustang.
Sorry, just making sure I am on a ford site....

I joined also to make a post. I recently purchased an 04 Cobra with a flowmaster exhaust as the only mod. I went 13.3 at 108 as my best time with a 1.98 60' time. I added drag radials and got to 13.1 at 109.
My previous car was a 99 camaro z28 ls1. I had a flowmaster exhaust and drag radial and went 12.6 at 113. It was a 6 speed. Was this car just a freak? I put a 150 shot of nos on it and ran 11.5s. I paid 25k for this cobra. What the he11???
Hey I was just browsing the Cobra section. My best friend had a completely stock 2003 Cobra, but he wasn't the best at shifting it. So we went to the track in late 2003. He let me race it because he knows how good I can drive ect ect.
Anyway, my first time ever down the track with his car I ran a 12.99 @ 110.5
He couldn't run better than 13.4 with it lol. If it wasn't so crowded I would have run another time and probably did better. His car did 372 RWHP on a dynojet 100% stock!! I couldn't believe my eyes.
The car was an animal to say the least. I like the T/A Ram Air and the Firehawks but when stock, the Cobra would take them no problem. Again, it depends on the driver though. Later guys
Can a 2003 or 2004 Mustang Cobra (stock) take out a 2001 Ram Air Tarns AM. (stock)? And I am looking at getting a 2004 Cobra Competition Orange. It only has 1,400k on it, what would be a good price for it?
Good question. I actually have a 04 stock cobra and an 02 WS.6, but the WS.6 is not stock. It has true duals, lid, kooks headers, mti tb, and bg ram air system. It would be interesting what the outcome would be.

Something is wrong if you can only muster 13.3 and 13.1 with drag radials.

A close friend of mine bought an 03 Cobra, put a pulley, tuner and exhaust on it, and dynoed at 470rwhp. I also have a friend with a WS6, and with a tune and exhaust he's at 375rwhp. He admits theres no way he could run an 03-04 Cobra.
