Default 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500 Modify

Hi Everyone:
I've never owned a mustang but I am seriously considering the new 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500. My real concern is whether I will be able to fit into it. I haven't bothered looking at Mustangs in the past because I'm 6'8" tall and I'm too tall for existing models. The reviews say that this car has "extra" room for the comfort of driver and passengers. I haven't been one of the lucky few to get behind the wheel of it yet. My main question is this: If necessary, is it possible to somehow modify the driver's side, making it possible to adjust the driver's seat back a couple more inches to accommodate my size? What are your thoughts? Thanks, Dan

I can't remember the company's name, but I have seen where you can buy longer seat rails for previous gen stangs. I just can't remember exactly where. Sorry I could not give you a name. Just that this problem can be fixed.

your primary concern should be your bank account. These will start at least 20K over MSRP. Other specialty mustangs may give more bang for the buck: Foose, Steeda,Saleen, Roush and any others.

Default Gouging

Yup... exactly what snake pliskin said. If you don't already have an order good luck finding one for less than 20K over msrp.... like they did the Z06 and the GT40, expect some price gouging from the dealers, and if you do find one for msrp, jump on it.. whether you fit or not cause you won't find that price again. I know from personal experience because I'm looking for a Z06 right now and I figured I would wait until the new 07' models came out and maybe the gouging would stop..NO!! I told myself I refuse to pay over msrp when they came out... but now I found a dealer that is only 5K over and the crazy thing is, I'm gonna jump on that excitedly.

Like someone said if your pockets are deep enough you can get done what you want and the prices aren't as bad as these guys are saying. Go for a test drive in one and make your own decision and if a dealer says they don't test drive those cars show them that you're serious and they will get you right into that car. The economy is bad right now and now is a good time to buy if you can afford it. There is a dealer that I know of that has few of them.
