Default JLT. Will i notice a difference?

I have a 99 cobra that is stock except for bbk longtubes and off road x pipe. I have a JLT ram air on the way and i was wondering if i was going to notice a big difference after it is installed? I have heard JLT is the best for these 4 valve motors. What kind of hp gains should i recieve? thanks.

Oh you'll definitely notice a difference. Throttle response will be razor sharp, that was the biggest difference I noticed with mine before my blower went on. As for rwhp increase, I don't recall off the top of my head, but I wasn't disappointed.

Has anybody installed a JLT ram air on a 96-98 cobra? Will this make your car run rich or lean? Do you have to remove the MAF screen? I have heard different stories about not doing that.

As long as the MAF is oriented the same as it was before the kit, it should not change the A/F ratio. The MAF screen can be reused if you want, but is not required.

The jlt is on and all i can say is daayyyuumm! This is awesome, i didnt think just an air intake could make that much of an increase.

A little goes a long way huh. I noticed a pretty good improvement on my 2V motor when I put on a JLT. I imagine it's a bit more significant with a 4V motor.

Yeh it says a 10 to 15 wheel hp increase on there website, and it really feels like it. And it only took like 20 min. to put the thing on.

Hey guys.........my JLT ram air intake just came in.......will be putting on this weekend on my 1998 32v DOHC cobra. sounds promising...........i never installed one when i first got my car 8 months ago because i have read so much about it maybe only making 5 horsepower at the most. I was originally going to order the K & N FIPK but have heard a lot about the JLT. I am hoping i will have a little better throttle response. So you said that you could really feel a difference with this?

You will be glad you bought it. i mean its not like adding a supercharger, but for it only being an air intake it makes good hp. I would recommend this to anyone with a 32v cobra as a key first mod.

ok............i installed the JLT ram air this weekend. i guess you were right..........i thought it would be more but it doesnt feel like much to me.....i was expecting way better throttle response....doesnt seem any different with the throttle response....but these arent gears i guess...it does seem to pull harder in the high RPM range. Also is it just mine but the fit is bad.........can barely close my hood........it now pushes on the intake because it sticks up way farther than the stock one.

Mine was a pill to get installed in such a way that it wasn't leaning up on other components, but it can be done. That's the way it goes with something that's almost twice the size of the OE part. It just gets crowded.

Installing mine was pretty easy. It fit fine. If ur hood is hard to close becasue it sticks up so high then you didnt do something right. And to answer the questions, I got my jlt from jlttruecoldair.com and the headers were on the car when i bought it. They add up 20 hp supposedly, but installing them is very labor intensive from what i have heard because of the lack of room on these cars. I actually have a leak where one of the header bolts has backed out and i have to get it fixed this week.

It has to be installed correctly..........the part that rubs is the black rubber reducer that connects to the MAF connection.....it cannot be pushed down anymore...........it lays right against the valve covers...........the hood liner inside rubs against it and is digging a hole in the headliner............very poor fit with no real notice in performance.

I am disappointed with the JLT ram air.
