Default 99 cobra vs. 03 mach 1 auto.

Ok i know u guys hate these but here it goes. Ok i have this guy who has been on my case talking s*** ever since i got my car. He has a 03 mach 1 automatic with exhaust and thats all. He says he will walk me horribly. So this has gotten on my nerves long enough and we are gonna race next time were both out ridin, we both work a lot so it will be a spur of the moment thing. My mods are in my sig and yes the car does have the 99 factory fix done to it. So what do u guys think? i know his 3.55's will help him against my 3.27's, but i also have a few more bolt-ons. He wants a 30 roll (obviously because of the AT) I told him 45 because well that eating speed in 2nd for me. So what u think on this?

With very little research, I would probably say you would beat him on a short distance .. Top end, he'd probably have you

Well we raced from a 20 mph roll only once because it started to rain and were not stupid enough to race in the rain. But the one time we raced was pretty even. i was in first gear obviously so when i hammered it on the third honk i spun a bit and then spun a bit more when i changed into second, at this point he had me by about 3/4 a car then in to third i started pullin him in i gained a little bit and then suddenly he slams his brakes when he has about 1/2 car on me as i was still pullin. We were goin about 80/85 when he hit the brakes. So i think if we were to keep racing i would have eventually got ahead, which we could have kept racing because there was plenty of straight road left. It was almost obvious why he hit the brakes. So i was at his door at 80/85 pullin him still when he ended it. But it was fun, clean racing, no **** talking, and oh yeh it was fun!
P.S. I NEED GEARS!

from a dead stop you will pull on him, make sure you dont over rev off the line and brake your tires loose.. If you do happen to loose I would look into added some 4.10 gears to that bad boy then he would have no chance at all.

Yeh i have only had the car for well 3 weeks this wednesday, so i am still getting use to it kinda. i may have shifted to early in to 2nd. I was also spinning and the mach had no traction issues he said. I dont feel bad about it because i am still getting use to it and i havent exactly found the right shift points yet. this thing drives a lot different then the old bolt-on 95 GT. Also i raced him with me having a bad exhaust leak, its where one of the header bolts has backed out. i dont know if this makes a difference or not but i have been told by a mechanic that i could losing a lot of torque since it is losing it before it gets to the xpipe. but i dunno. i gonna get it fixed next week and race that guy again from a 40mph roll in 2nd. And yesssss when i get gears they most certainly be 4.10s mm&ff says it only effects rpms by 200 in 5th while regular driving.

I think you will take him. Pull him hard, get a car length, and let off. I know how to hauruntee victory, take the pulley off of your supercharger and replace it with a smaller one lol. Simple, cheap, and tons of power added. Of course, you have to be careful not to add too much boost. Then get some huge port heads. Then you will take him off the line and run away on the high end.

Remember Cobra's like RPM's set your shift points at 6500 rpms, by the time you react you should be hitting about 6700 wich is good.

I dont think either one of them has a supercharger, your probably thinking of an 03-04 Cobra.

Yeh i have been practicing out here on some back roads near my house and i have been shifting at 6500 in to second then from 6500 also 2nd to third. I can feel the difference it pulls so hard in second and the keeps pulling damn hard in to third it scared me a little to be honest. haha I was shifting at or around 6100 to 6200 when i raced him i cant belive the difference a few hundered rpms makes in these cars it felt so much faster shifting at 6500. But do u think the header leaking makes any difference?

Yea you should get that header fixed, but I am glad your happy with the higher RPM.s My tranny and clutch is built for speed shifting (Shifting while your foot is still on the gas) but not recommended in a stock tranny. The cobras hit peak at about 6300 that's why you feel so much more.
