Why is my 1998 cobra so slow?

gears are your best bet right now. yes your larger rims will slow you down also remember to replace basic stuff like spark plugs, belt, oil and what not since your getting up their in mileage. your car is also heavier because its a vert. pulleys work nice too dont forget suspension. no use in all the upgrades if your not putting the hp and tq to the ground

i got a question, my brother has a mustang gt 2000 and i have a mustang gt 1994 with all the mods listed below plus 3.73 gears that will be installed on this thursday,
i wanted to know if i could beat my brothers car o even to keep up with him ???

if his is stock yes you should be able to. u have a couple of nice items and if he is stock u got him easily

This was the very first thread I read, after signing up, Just cought my eye, "Why is my 98 Cobra so slow?" Gotta love the honesty.

I would recommend 4.10 gears for your car, They really wake those
particular year cars up big time (96-98 cobras). My friend did that mod and loved it.

Just my 2 cents worth.

3.73s are a waste on a 4V. go 4.30s or go home.
I only lost 1.5 mpg going from 3.27s to 4.30s.
I still get 20.5 mpg with mixed city/highway. Rpms aren't bad either. At 65 mph the rpm's are at 2400 and will climb 200 rpm's with every 5 mph
