Default How many miles can i expect out of my cobra

Does anybody know an average lifespan of how many miles i can expect to get out of a 1998 4.6 liter DOHC cobra motors? I change the oil every 3000 miles and only run the car hard to redline a couple once or twice a week. How many miles do people have or have gotten with their 94-98 cobras?

Cool

Properly maintained ... 200K easy.
Barring any major issue.

Well 94-95 Cobras are totally different than 96-98s.
5.0 I've seen go for well over 200k, Like said above. I have 119k on my 98 and no major problems at all

not an svt and sorry to intrude, but i have a 98 2v with 146k miles on it still going strong. only major problems ive had are:
1) crank pulley fell apart (dampner crumbled and came loose, belt came off...all happened in my drive way)
2) defective transmission (replaced with 98 cobra t-45)
3) cracked intake manifold (2v motors are famous for this, recall and lawsuit fixed most cars...i, on the other hand, got screwed).
4) motor mounts gave out around 115k miles.

i wont lie, my car is more than familiar with the redline, but it does get very good maintence. mobil 1 full synthetic whever it starts getting dirty, iridium plugs, etc. i really wouldnt worry too much about the engine life on these cars, i would be more worried on the smaller yet important items such as bushings. all mine are shot and need to be replaced.

ps. look at my avitar, i used to do that about once a month since oct. 2004, they relocated to a different speedway middle of last year and are just barely starting it up again next month. car is still going strong...

My 99 Cobra went 92k (in less then 4 years) b/f I traded in on my current 04. Clutch lasted 88k & the engine was never opened for anything. My 04 has 53k in less then thee years & I leave it in Florida for the winter. I have a 100k Ford ESP warranty which covers everthing.
