If you guys are real Mustang fans you can tell the difference easily. I run a cobra hood and font bumper, saleen spoiler but I kept my GT badges...I don't want anyone thinking my car is anything but a slow GT. Then again the blower whine usually makes people think anyway. I'll toss a question back to yo guys..how do you feel about Cobra owners putting a snake in the grill when it never came from Ford that way??
I don't have a problem with the guys and girls who put cobra emblems, Saleen, Steeda, Roush, or whatever combination they choose. My only gripe is when you see these idiots post videos that say I smoked a cobra or some other special edition stang when they really didn't. I know in the area where I live every punk kid thinks because they have a turbo four cylinder they can take any car, for that matter it does not even have to have a turbo, just a butt sucker muffler. The guys with the Hemi's are just as bad but at least they have a car that does have the potential to be quick, without dropping a small fortune. Not to mention they do tend sound better with exhaust.
But as far as swapping badges, emblems, or body parts that does not bother me. We are all our own person.
I have seen one GT and a few V6's. The funny thing about it is the first thing I notice is the Emblems are facing backwards instead of forwards, then the obvious single exhaust on the V6's.
Before I bought my 04 Cobra, I actually had a non-Ford dealer try and sell me a V6 with cobra rims as a cobra. I laughed at him and asked him if he thought I was stupid.
A week after I bought my cobra a friend of mine was putting his Toyota in the shop at the dealers. He asked me if I could pick him up and take him home. When I pulled into the lot I had 2 different salesmen ask me if I would be willing to trade my car for something on their lot. I never laughed so hard in my life.

Its fine if you do that becuase the cobra comes with the bages on the sides and it says cobra. It is a real cobra ford just put a horse on the grill that time. The new cobra has a snake on the grill. I think its fine to put a snake on your cobra because it is a cobra.
I used to get killed in my 94 SLOWbra. Rated at only 240hp it was easy. They never thought it was a Cobra 'cuz it says mustang on the rear bumper cover. I now to some killing with its new 331. Stick to the stock badging, mine were stolen twice.
I love Cobra's and I would love to own a 94-95 or 03-04 Cobra but I'm not in a position in life to own one so I guess I'll have to settle with with my GT with Cobra emblems. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I too wish i was a cobra owner, but that's not going to happen any time soon. Anyway, this is an interesting topic and don't really have much to add, since i'm not an owner, but i do have a question. Have any of you guys gone the other way, to somewhat disguise your cobras just to mess w/people??? I wouldn't imagine so, since you're probably proud of having a cobra. Just thought i'd ask because my friend has a '98GT. He recently got in an accident and had to replace the front bumper and hood, so he chose the cobra models because he thought they'd look better. He then became concerned people would mistake it for a cobra & definately didn't want that. Anyway, he decided to go a small step further and replaced his GT fender emblems w/the V6 pony ones. He said it's actually been pretty funny as the ricer crowd that are ignorant when it comes to mustangs often think he has a V6 w/upgraded hood, bumper & exhaust(typical ricer style thinking) They're always talking ****...until he smokes 'em and they're like Anyway, just curious if any of you guys did anything similar.

I would love to have a nerminator and downgrade it so it looks like a regular V6 and then surprise people ahahah.
I have no problem with people using body parts from other cars. But I dont care for anything that's badged or trying to be passed off as something it's not.
Agreed, the key words are-"pass it off as something it's not".I've got a GT,always liked the Cobra and used to want it to look like one.Now that I've "warmed it up" a little,I've been thinking more and more about keeping it looking like a new(well,it's a '95,should say well kept up and original) but with a surprise inside

And speaking of "bogus"--if anything ever happens to my '95 with all the mods(like,wrecked-totally unrepairable),or I get a boatload of ca$h and need a project,I'm gonna build me a BOGUS 427 COBRA ROADSTER..for ME,not to try to pass off as a "real" one

As already mentioned, it doe snot bother me if someone borrow parts, ideas or etc from other limited edition Stangs, I do dislike it when they rebadge the car, for in my mind there is no legitimate reason to rebadge other than to pass it off as the real thing. To me, rebadging amounts to fraud, but then again I am a bit pickier than most.
