I think it's bogus..... I see a ton of cars with the "Boss" markings only to find out it's cheap striping from some aftermarket place. I saw a yellow Mustang with the Boss markings just the other day at a car lot, so of course I turned around to check it out. Yep, it was a six. PMO! The other thing that gets me are the GT350 clones. Clones are for clowns. Say that three times fast....
I have no problem with people using body parts from other cars. But I dont care for anything that's badged or trying to be passed off as something it's not.
I have seen one GT and a few V6's. The funny thing about it is the first thing I notice is the Emblems are facing backwards instead of forwards, then the obvious single exhaust on the V6's.
Before I bought my 04 Cobra, I actually had a non-Ford dealer try and sell me a V6 with cobra rims as a cobra. I laughed at him and asked him if he thought I was stupid.
A week after I bought my cobra a friend of mine was putting his Toyota in the shop at the dealers. He asked me if I could pick him up and take him home. When I pulled into the lot I had 2 different salesmen ask me if I would be willing to trade my car for something on their lot. I never laughed so hard in my life.
As the proud owner of 1 of 76, '97 White Convertible Cobras, i find it both insulting AND humorous when guys take their GT's and much, much less Six bangers and try to pass them off as Cobras. It is almost "Gone in Sixty Seconds"-esque (the original one with the yellow stang) what some of these dudes go through to make people think they have a "Cobra". Anyway, that is my two cents. Keep it real, S....V....T!

It's kinda funny when that same ricer tangles with the real McCoy. One thing I've already noticed about my car is among street car guys, the 03-04 has already achieved legend status. The car was reasonabilly priced enough to get it into the hands of street racers. Most were not sealed in a time machine bag like GNX's . Most hit the streets and most are modded to some degree.
my cousin has an 03 cobra vert. and it puts 420 hp and 445 lbs to the rear tires. its a beast and there is cars out there faster but he hasn't run across any yet.

I had a guy at a gas station trying to tell me his GT was a Cobra.
I asked him why he put GT brakes on his Cobra....he was like "Uummmm..."

Ya there are, MINE, or any non vert 03/04 cobra with mods, because they are lighter.
I think its fine to make your car look like a cobra or saleen or anything for thatmatter, as long as you dont try to make people think its the real thing.
That just means that they like it that way. Besides they spend there own money on what they want, not what others want.
So I say go ahead and turn your escort into a Cobra if it turns u on.

I have heard this many times before and specially a friend of mine that has a pontiac gtp (stock) he says that has beaten a lot of mustang gts and cobras wich they only have emblems...plus the other day I ran into a guy in a stop light that had a mustang gt with only cobra emblems on the sides and I asked him, is it a cobra and he was like yea it is and told him is it stick or auto and he said its an AUTO, I was like ooooo really....
