Question 03 04 cobra NEED HELP!

I am a 19 year old college student about to depart from Dallas Tx to Florida State University. My parents are buying me a new car when i leave. My first car was a 99 gt 5 spd. I am currently driving my 02 tahoe. My dad believes a 350z or G35 coupe would be better suited for the highway driving. But i see otherwise. Having a cobra in florida would be my dream. I know that the nissan and infiniti would go for way higher miles than a cobra. Heres my question. How do the cobras run when they get up in high miles? any knocks, ticks? any advice or info would be awsome!

There's probably not to many high mileage Terminators out there to thoroughly answer your question, although they are some very tough motors. My 97' has 156k miles and still runs strong.

I can only tell you that they run great with low miles.

also just for anyone who may know the actual numbers. I know that in 03 the leather options were grey suede, red and black leather. In 04 they took away the black and red and switched over to the mystichrome however they also added black suede on black leather. Black on Black is my preference but i dont see too many with the black on black combo. I was just wondering if anyone knew how many cobras they made with the black on black leather option?

It might be on this web site, but maybe not, anyway its a cool site.
CobraBob's Stang Shifter Gaskets - Cobra Production Numbers
Just click to left side of the page on (03/04 Cobra FAQ's)
It has about a million questions and answers about the 03/04 Cobras. I'm sure it says something about the interior color options somewhere.

just have to say: wish my parents were wealthy...
as for the miles... time will tell... i've been shopping around for a deal on one for myself... my parents are poor lol - but most are under 50k miles - and 25+ grand... - if the p-rents will buy you that car, im sure they will fix it when it breaks.. so what does it matter?

Well let me be the first to tell you. My parents are FAR from being rich. However They are not in any debt. I will say that for my parents. When I go off to college its all on me, ill be taking out student loans. My sister went to Texas A&M and did the exact same thing. My parents bought her a mustang gt. My parents are buying me a cobra under the condition that I pay for the insurance... Also I will say this for myself. I have never gotten a speeding ticket before in my life. So my parents trust me with a Big Engine

Any major problems on the way to 156k?

I've only had it for 3k and I got the CEL after cleaning the IMRC plates, but I wouldn't call that a major problem. The previous owner had it since 80k and said he was religous with the maintenance.

Judging that you've had that engine for 156 miles, I'd say that they are pretty bullet proof right?

Default Still Running Good

I'm the original owner of a Black 2003 SVT Cobra Convertible. I just kicked over 49,000 miles, and it runs as good as the day I bought it; no runs, no drips, no errors. Of course I change the oil every 3,000 miles, etc.
