Default 03-04 Blower Upgrade

Anyone here with the 03-04 Cobra that have made the switch with the KB or Ford Whipple blowers -- pro & cons (if any) Probably going to make a switch this spring. Thought about porting the Eaton, but not sure which way to go at this time.

I have been looking into the same thing, even though I haven't even gotten my cobra yet. I have been told just swap the blower and not spend the money on the port. Also, the performance shop I take my stuff to recommended the F1 procharger. This way you don't blow the tires off the car (as much) when you step into it right away, as you get more boost in higher rpm with a p/c. I have also heard the kenne bells still heat up..not as much as the eaton but they still heat, and procharger will not, and a few other reasons. But, i do LOVE the sound of a kenne bell and a whipple, so i am still in debate as well. Price wise, i really don't know how the procharger compares with the kenne bell or whipple

Default blower

The procharger does run cooler due to the huge intercooler. I had one on my other car with a 347 in it. I feel that porting the Eaton is ok but will not be nearly as cool running as the Whipple, just a whole lot of money difference. Hopefully by the end of March, something will come together.

From what i've read about the new KB "H" and "S" series big bore superchargers it seems that they run cooler than their previous blowers. BIG BORE Supercharger

If you decide on a whipple, I talked to this guy at a motorsport dept that said he can order one from Ford and have it shipped to your door for $3000. Period. I will see if I can find the number and post it for all that may be interested. Its the best deal I've found so far.

The new 2.8 liter KB blower is bad ***. With a modified motor, you can get over 1,000 hp. It is also efficient, has no cooling problems, and fits right in place of smaller blowers. If I could afford it, I'd get one

Twin Screw for the win. Just be prepared to drop coin on 60lb injectors, SCT (or other) MAF, accufab or billetflow throttle body, GT fuel pumps (KB BAP), and new tune, maybe even metco lower, depending on what boost configuration you go with. Either kenne bell or whipple you're looking at anywhere from 5K-6500 depending on polished, probably 500 or so less if you do most of the labor yourself.

Depends on how fast you want to go and how much $$$ you want to or can afford to spend. Even with the ported Eaton I had to upgrade my fuel system and maf. Unless you're a racer and have an extra $3000 go with the Whipple.
