hi i just order a set of NITTO NT555R DRAG RADIAL TIRES for my 01 cobra. are they good drag tires , better then my street tires. also will i hook better and less wheel hop ???

i have heard good and bad things about the 555's. a buddy of mine has an 04 cobra and he says the nittos are the best street tire he has ever put on his car, but he says they arent the best for the track. so it kinda depends on what you are looking for. my personal opinion is go with the nittos because realistically the majority of the time that you race somebody, it will be on the street. and even though they arent the BEST at the track they are still pretty damn good. if you just want a drag strip radial then go with what he did and get some micky thompsons or something. anyways hope that helped.

yea i herd the same thing goods and bads wits the nittos. i got them
cheap and i only go to the track once and a while. also long as there better then my street tires then im happy.

what kind of gears did you decide to go with?

im waitn on the gears for lil bit b/c here in jersey gas 3 bucks a gallon and i blow the motor in my 92 eagle talon tsi so im trying to unload the talon. but i think im gunna go wit 3;73 unless if that guy wit the soild axle comes down on his price he want 800 for it and its out of a 99 GT. its used i see 400 all over it.

yeah 800 is a hell of a lot for a used diff. you can get one brand new for that much. what made you decide on the 373's?

i drove my friends like 96 cobra and i remember my old 5.0 had them and there good street / track gear but im still waitin for the swap meet to come at race way park u can pick up sum good deals there and its coming up in two weeks

yeah thats a good idea.. but you have to remember to that if you get them used make sure they are in pristine condition because with something like your rear diff you dont want to mess around with even slightly damaged or out of spec parts because it will cost you tons of amounts of more money to fix what they could potentially fvck up ya know.. just be careful with what you get from who thats all i mean by it.
