1999 Mustang Cobra Can Not Pass The Smog Inspection, Any Solutions?

My 99 Cobra won't pass smog. do I need to get new CC's How many do Cobras Have - 3?

I believe they came with 6 if you can believe it, the auto gt's came with 4.

Get a can of ethanol. mix just under a quart to a full take of gas. That should do it. If anything, they'll clear you out of there with a pass just to get the vapors out from burning their eyes. lol.

We don't have emissions anymore. But that's what we used to do. Or run straight 108 Octane gas. Get it from the airport or speedshop.

What part of the inspection did it not pass? If it was hydrocarbons, then you probably can get passed with new cats, or even a major tuneup will sometime do it.

When going through smog, remember it is a visual test as much as it is a performance test. The car has to visually have everything that the car is required to have, and those parts need to be performing within their margin of error levels.

I would consider taking the car to more than one smog tester, making sure I get detaile dreport as what is wrong. If the car fails, use an octane booster to help the smog levels. Also go to a "Dont pay if you dont pass" shop. Ironically you would be surpirsed how many pass under those situations.

funny how that works. how many miles do you have? what gas failed? do you have a cold air intake? aftermarket cats? bigger injectors? i would probably start with plugs and a fuel filter. and an airfilter if the intake is stock. or if you have a cold air intake, clean the maf. you have to run premium anyway in your car so thats ok.
