Default Anyone using Sumitomo tires?

Looking at getting a set for the 93 Cobra. I have Firehalks on it rigt now, but they are weather checked (being 10 years old) even though the car lives in the garage. I've got some checking right where the sidewall meets the tread area.

A friend runs the Sumi's on his Trans-Am and oves them. They are cheaper than Goodyear Gatorbacks and seem to last deciently. Would like to hear if anyone is using them, and what was the price in your area for them. Will be running them (if I end up with them) on the stock Cobra rims so the tires will be 245-45ZR17's. If you are running a different tire that is Z rated and like them post here with brand and cost. Thanks...

I work at a Goodyear and bought a set of Z rated sumi's and 3 out of 4 seporated after about two years. Decent tire up until then though. Now I run on 2454517 Toyo proxes(not sure what they are rated) I like them way better than the Sumis. Feel like stuck to road. Since I work there I got the Toyos for 90 each.

Thanks. I'll look at the Toyos also.
