im looking at one or two cobras tomorrow, one is a 2001, the other is a 99. I read the carfax for the 01 and it had four entries that said something like " suspension mantainence". Is this anything to be worried about, and is there anythign realated to the suspension that i shoudl look for? Also, is there anything else i should pay close attention to when looking at either of these reguarding the fact that theyre cobras? ( i already know to make sure the 99 has been modified by ford for the incorrect hp thing)

yeah..so i looked at the carfax for the 01 and it has changed hands 4 times and has been sitting in multiple lots. none of the owners had it for more than a year, so im thinking a lemon? or the first owner ran it hard and broke/screwed up the independent rear suspension? does this sound right?

I sounds like somebody did a bonzi jump in it or truck delivery mishap. I saw a guy going way too fast and hit on of those negative dips in the road and totally bottom out his suspension and ruin the entire car. Also a lot of cars a damaged from the car carriers delivering the cars from the factory. I have see them come off of them with every body panel line off from the trucker improperly strapping down the car or backing it off wrong.

well i looked at the 01 and it was pretty bad. im pretty sure the first owner ran it hard. the suspension had been fixed multiple times like i said, and the rings were shot. when we confronted the guy about it, he couldn't have cared less, and was trying to sell it for an above average price for an 01. still havn't looked at the 99...
