Default Need help with color and measurements

I pretty new the idea of modifying my car into a pretty nice ride. I just 2007 gt500 and I bough it in a solid black with no side or top stripes. Was looking to get a whole paint job on it again and get the lines paint it on em as well. Wasn't too sure on the measurements for the top stripes and for the side stripes i decided to order the decals. Did't know if the side stripes could also be paint it on vehicle so I just got them.

Not sure what would look better paint or just with the decals? What I didn't know also was the for the top stripes for the gt500 how it comes out from the dealer, I was told 1 inch to 1 inch and a forth in between and 10 inches on width on the stripes. Not exactly sure if it is right because I didnt actually get it from the dealership but from a buddy of mine that works in a car shop.

Just need a little advice on it.

Cool

Here is my advice, why do you want to go and ugly the car up? Just my opinion, but strips look like crap on a stang. My cobra has no stripes, painted emblems, etc. That is why I like the cobras, gt 500, trans-am etc. I like the gt 500 plain straight black.

Putting a stripe on a stang is like putting a sticker that states "crapper" on a all white toilet. I like the toilet to be plain white, it makes me constipated with pretty flowers on it! HAHA!!

You made the statement "modifying my car into a pretty nice ride" Sounds like your not happy with the current looks, maybe some nice "bumper" stickers to make it nicer?

Come on now, not all stripes are bad. I think they look good with the racing stripes. So I would say if its what you want it to look like, then its your car go for it and don't worry about wether they are the "right" size or not. just my 2 cents

The stripes are not that bad....if done in good taste.

I do have a problem with people that go and purchase cobra emblems, or add paint schemes or cobra front ends, etc. To make their car look like a certain (model) that it is not.

Example, We have a v6 mustang here in TN that has cobra emblems, saleen rear wing, and a Boss stickers on the front! HAHA! Another example, People come up to me and say, " I out ran a cobra this morning, they are slow as crap." Then I go and find the car and it is a V6!

I think all automobile makers do make the ultimate cars "plain jane" to make them unique from other colorful cars.

Definitely not "uglying the car up" as you put it. I just had white racing stripes done to my '97 Cobra and it looks unbelievable. The COBRA on the back is painted in a light grey to offset the white and black, like I said it looks unbelievable and I couldn't be happier. As for your question, I'm not sure of measurements but do not get decals, get it painted. I was going to get decals and went back on my initial decision and it was definitely the right one. Painted stripes looks soooooo much better, my friend has a '97 Cobra as well with red racing stripes (his are decals, on top and side) and it looks weak compared to mine. He was the one who actually said that too haha.

By the way (I'm sure you have figured this out haha), it's going to cost you a pretty penny to get it done with the side stripes because they have to remove the doors and everything, but it's worth it if you ask me.
