1996 Mustang Cobra Clutch Flywheel Resurfacing

I am going to purchase a king cobra clutch from nitro racing. I notice in some of the comments that the flywheel needs resurfacing. resurface my wheel? Ok, is this something optional? All we have is local autozones and crap. We will be putting on this clutch on the weekend and the normal places are not open. any suggestions?

You really should have it resurfaced or you could have chattering, slipping, just an overall poor performance. Plus, it could wear out the clutch prematurely.

It took me quite a while to find a good machine shop. Call some local dealerships and ask what shops they use. You could also check around for a new one if it's more convenient. Check some forum calssifieds, especially on Corral Forums - Powered by vBulletin. That site is loaded with classifieds and I've seen quite a few flywheels on there, sometimes brand new.

Thanks! I appreciate the advice. Oriellys in TN turns flywheels for $30.00 bucks. My mechanic friend works there and I will have him turn it!
