Hello first of all i have a 1996 mustang with a v6 3.8l in it i was thinknig of replacing it with a maybe 96 cobra engine or maybe a 03 but the 03 is a 6 speed right and i have a 5 speed right now how hard would this be to swap also would these engines fit? I was also wondering if so were could i find these i know junk yards but is there anywere else any1 know of places in Illinois?

It would probably be cheaper and less hassle to buy a 96 cobra. Something not too beat up with over 100K could probably be had for 5K if you looked hard enough.

yea i guess but i heard of people getting cobra engines for under 2k hmm i dont know ty tho.

You will need more than just the engine alone. You will also need the computer, all wire harness, etc. Not sure, but you may have to upgrade the drive change if it is a v6. I do believe cobra mustangs are just more than "engine" and that is it.

Yes they fit, but too expensive because also need cobra suspension, cobra long headers, exhaust, tranny, engine, computer, etc... and a specialist to do the job.

I tried to do the same with mine that is crashed, but numbers got high. So better i fix it.
