Default 2003 Mustang Cobra, best plugs and DR tire size ?

Hey Guys, just a little input on some snake upgrades. My car just turned 20k and I was thinking of upgrading plugs. My car has a K&N FIPK, UPR uncatted X, MAC cat?back, Diablo sport tune and a 2.93 pulley. I've heard the Denso iridium plugs are worth the bucks. I'm also having traction problems with my Nitto 555's and was trying to remember exactly which Nitto DR size I need. I seem to think it is 315-35-17 to fit a stock wheel. Also, is the accufab TB worth the 600 or so bucks. Thanks for the input in advance.

The Iridium plugs are fine to use, they're lots better than platinums. Yes, the 315 should fit, it's the NT555R you need. And yes, in my opinion anyway, the throttle body is worth it.

I feel your pain! If I hammer it very hard in the first three gears, it is like driving on wet leaves. That is with street tires though. I have not tried DR's. The accufab TB is definitely worth the money.

I was hoping you would chime in. We live close to each other. I was wondering how you like the KB upgrade. What have been the drawbacks? If we could hook up sometime so I could see your car and perhaps get a demo ride I'll gladly fill your tank and hook you up with a meal if you want. You have taken your car to the next level and I'm teetering on going to that level since mine is a play toy and not a daily. I would suppose you are in the neighborhood of 600 to the rear?

The only drawback is the traction issue. The only other thing is the boost dump valve is a little wierd. But I have corrected that problem, I just tweaked my driving style a little. I would just bypass it but I don't want to start breaking parts. I figure with the power level I am at that would happen. Robert Hindman done the install for me. With my work schedule now I barely have enough time to eat.

Aren't Cobra wheels 17X9? If so Wouldn't a 275/40/17 be about the widest you can fit safely. I didn't see where he had aftermarket 17X10.5s.

I have spent a few thousand at Robert's over the years so we have common alliances. As for the question regarding DR tires, I have stock 17x9 but have read numerous times that the Nittos run small and a 315-35-17 will fit. Back to the KB thing. Robert and I talked about building mine. Did you go with 60lb injectors, focus pumps? boost a pump? what were the supporting mods and what was the total cost out the door? I fully understand you being very busy. I've been putting in big hours myself. Just if you get an opportunity. I can reciprocate with some quality trigger time behind just about any type of weapon you can think of.

We went with 60lb injectors. Boost a pump and boost a spark. Two different sets of plugs, first was Denso iriduim but we decided to go with NGK plugs. As far as total cost, I think I got a killer deal. Let me explain, first of all he was stuck with my car for three days. The reason was because once he got the KB on the car had a horrible miss, after chasing our tail and scratching our heads he found a burr on one of the harness prongs causing a bad connection. After he fixed that he tuned it for me and now it is a ABSOLUTE BEAST! To give a little perspective I have sold recently sold a brand new C6 Z06 to Terry Anderson, who owns Performance Products in Knoxville. I had drive it from the dealership back to his shop the other day and got on just a little and I don't think it would be much of a run, if I could get the thing to hook. Oh yeah back to the subject the total cost including all the parts, labor, and headache was just a shade over $5,000. Keep in mind the blower was right at $4,000 by itself.
