Default 2003 Mustang cobra getting dyno tune ???

I have 2003 cobra with bassani catback and xpipe, cold air intake and pro 5.0 short throw. Im getting the car dyno tune and a 2.80 pulley done on the 22th , its costin me 1200 bucks. They are gunna make a custom tune using sct. I herd very good things about sct. The shop said im gunna be around 480 to 490 rwhp. Here is there web site Big Daddy Performance | Outrageous Mustangs - Dyno, Turbos, Superchargers, Custom Chips, Tuning, Exhaust Big Daddy Performance | Outrageous Mustangs - Dyno, Turbos, Superchargers, Custom Chips, Tuning, Exhaust

That sounds really expensive for a pulley and tune. Hope your happy with your new found power.

Default dyno tune

You will be smiling afterwards. Mine was also sct tuned. Check around and visit shops. You should get it a lot cheaper than what you are saying. He should sell you the tuner for no more than 420.00 dollars max. Somewhere around 85.00 dollars for the actually tuning and around 135.00 dollars for the dyno. Takes close to hour and a half to two hours.

I did a little shopin around i found one shop for 675 but il olny be at 450 to the wheels they said. The shop im using is doing the pulley fuel fliter and there making a custom tune. They said il have 480 to 490 rwhp. He told me a new fuel fliter will help with the tuning which i never herd before. but i know he knows wat hes doing he work for ford for 25 years , and on his web site hes has couple 03 cobra that put down 490 , which is really good.

Default fuel filter

Believe me a fuel filter is not going to give you 40 more horse power. Do the pulley and sct tune. Make sure you have the cold air on it also. Believe me 450 hp to 460hp with 475 ft pounds of torque will be plenty. You will have to lift out of it the first 3 gears so you don't tear out the half shafts. Then get back into it. You will be happy with it but the final decision is up to you.

A fuel filter will not help power, but consistency. Its cheap insurance that something wont go wrong on the dyno, making shure you get good fuel.

Default tuning

When you go up their let them dyno it and see what your numbers really are. You could be a little over 400 as it is. If you are happy with that, stay with it, if not, then add pulley and tune. I don't know if I would of put a pulley on my car if it already didn't have one on it when I got it. Not sure of the heat it will generate in the summer. Though the tuner tech said that after it reaches a certain temp it will drop a couple degrees of timing and will take care of it self. We'll see. Good luck and keep me informed.

I just got a 3.10 pulley from steeda. they said it doesn't need to be tuned, and can boost an extra 1-3 psi, should I get the car tuned anyway? I will only be using this pulley for a couple weeks until I get the upgraded Kenne bell s/c.
