Default 2003 Mustang Cobra Dyno Tune

I went and took my Cobra in today and had a dyno on it to see the numbers. Everything was off, air, fuel, timing. The car has a small pully, cold air and catback-flow master exhaust. Previous owner never had it tune after the installs. After 3 pull and some fine tuning numbers were 458 RW horse power and 475 ft. pounds of toque. Boost is at 15.8 max. Unreal. Tech said he never seen that much boost on stock eaton supercharger. He said he is going to tune it for that and all will be ok. Car is totally, a different driving machine. Cost me 660.00 dollars. My wife isn't pleased but I now have peace of mind. If I hadn't had it tuned I figure it would of cost a lot more later on down the road. Just turned 3317 miles on car.

Sounds good. That's a great number with the stock Eaton on there.

That is a lot of boost... At least you can sleep knowing your tune is on.

Do you know what size pulley you have on the car? If you have a 2.80 or smaller you need an idler set up to keep the belt from slipping. The amount of boost you are making sounds like you have at least a 2.80, and maybe even smaller, or the lower pulley may have been changed. My car has a 2.80 with a 100mm idler setup, and I'm around 12psi. You might want to add some octane boost when you fill your tank also.

Default Idle pulley and boost

When I got the car I received the orginal pulley and a drive belt. Tech tuner was looking around with a lite to see the pullies. He did tell me about the idler change and that by looking and what I told him that it is possible that I have a 2.76 pulley due to the amount of boost. We checked to see if the belt was slipping and it did not. Could the smaller belt take up the slack? So we are going to let it eat for now. Hope all is going to be ok.
