How wide of tires can you fit on the stock 9 inch rims?

I have the 03 cobra and I plan on putting some nitto 555R tires on it. But I don't know how big I can go. Can I put anything bigger then a 275? Just how wide can I go?

Even a 275 is a bit of a stretch. The sidewall will be compromised some.

i had 285 on my gt(03 cobra rims),worked just fine.my budy has 315 on his 04 cobra stock rims(a bit streched but its ok),and now i have 275 on 17x8",so 275 285 295 will be fine as far as the rim goes.if it rubs on shocks just get some spacers
