Default Supercharger lag????

i just bought a bone stock 2004 cobra with 48,000 miles.
its clean inside, outside, and in the engine.

theres just one problem....
when i gun it, the superccharger seems to lag..instead of the RPM needle shooting smoothly to high rpm's it kinda stops and go's stops and go's in almost a skipping matter as if im hitting a rev limiter or somethin. ahhh its soo hard to explain

i buddy of mine sent me a link that could ppossibly help my situation

Well, think of it as a blow off valve for a turbo, except its called a bypass valve, prevents surges. I have one and I don't have any of the problems you describe w/ my s/c.

my superchager does more of a stuttering when you floor it.
i went to ford to have it checked out, but the parts dept was closed.
so i showed my friend and he said it could possibly be a boost leak or my car is cutting fuel???

Turn off your traction control maybe? Are you flooring it in 1st. gear when this happens. If so, try turning off your traction control.

It might be the traction control issue as torchred states. Mine doesn't have traction control(didn't know the new cobras had it) but that sounds about right. Let us know.

Is your fuel tank at least a 1/4 full? I have an 03' Cobra and like clockwork 1/4 tank and lower the engine runs fine under normal driving but under any hard acceleration the car jerks and the engine power cuts off and on, kind of like you describe "instead of the RPM needle shooting smoothly to high rpm's it kinda stops and go's stops and go's in almost a skipping matter as if im hitting a rev limiter or something". Fill up on gas and problem gone. Put 25,000 miles plus on the car and it has always done it. Hope this helps.

well i tried what you guys said.
i turned of the traction and filled up to 3/4 of a tank.
and still, the supercharger stutters.
im guessing by the way it feels, it has to do with the fuel?
i just got it on the 25th of feb, once the insurance comes in, im gonna take it down to ford and have them take a look

Have you done any fuel upgrades i.e high flow fuel pump, high flow injectors, spark plugs etc? You can't really run a s/c or a turbo effectively w/ out any fuel mod upgrades. Don't take it to the stealership. Get it dyno tuned if anything after you put in the neccessary upgrades. Put that money to good use instead of wasting time with the ford service shop.

the only thing ive done to it since i got it was changed the oil (mobile 1 full syn), changed the oil filter, and changed the fuel filter. but it still funs exactly the same. yea i was kinda hoping i would run into someone with a terminator cobra around here who knows a lot about them bcuz i have no clue of where theres a dyno...

Well to begin with, you're going to need fuel mods.

The problem is he is bone stock...so fuel upgrades are not necessary. Ford already made the necessary changes to compensate for the supercharger. Keep us updated as to what the problem is.
