It's got to be the valve cover gasket, check that first.

yeah, I guess you can call it that way, actually they sit on the underside of the cam covers at the end of the tubes, kinda' big and flat

Why would you be seeing oil in the combustion chamber in the first place? Could it be worn piston rings? oil shouldn't be coming near the electrode and seeping up through the threads, this is a DOHC Cobra motor being talked about!
And MEMBERS PLEASE I need advice, check my thread entitled" Catastrophic Engine Damage '99 SVT Cobra!" What should my plan be?

This may not be the answer to the problem, but I have experienced this on other engines also. What I found was that the anti-seize I was applying to the plug threads, if applied thickly, will break down. The solids in the anti-seize were separating from the oil that it is mixed with resulting in oily threads. It's probably due to the heat it's exposed to. The plug itself was just fine.

This had me wondering how oil could migrate to the threads on a pushrod engine. The only other way I could think of a cause would be if the engine was really pumping oil into the combustion chamber, but it would have to be so extreme that it would misfire due to fouling and probably smoke like Hell. The valve cover gaskets weren't leaking either.

he is NOT seaing oil in the "combustion chamber" but in the sparksplug tubes and it's these tube seals that leak oil from inside the top of the cylinder head....have you ever taken the cam covers off a DOHC engine?
