Hey guys, Im lookin to buy this 2003 cobra convertible... its got 60,000 miles (mostly highway) he has an extended warranty on it till about 80,000 miles on it. It just had a new clutch and the tranny rebuilt. It has upgrades like a kenny bell cold air induction, shorty headers, steeda subframe connectors, basani exhaust w/ cats and x-pipe and eibach springs. Anything there that would void the warrant? Also if were to put a pulley on it and get a tuner would that void it? Im hoping to get it off the guy for 20 grand a good deal? Thanks for all your help...

well anything that alters your car and causes a failure voids warrenty....the law states that the "mod" had to cause the failure to void warrenty...but have fun fighting an auto maker on that one....

If it was a factory warranty then you would be fine. I had all the mods in my sig except i was running a Ported Eaton (was making 494 whp). I took it to a retard the first time it was tuned. He ran it lean and popped the engine. I was still on my factory warranty. So i took it there not expecting them to do much but they warranted my car. I got a Brand New engine 2 weeks before my warranty expired!!!

But they told me if i was on extended your pretty much at their mercy and is alot harder to get warranty work done. Because Extended warranty is offered by the dealerships, not ford.
