Default 2001 Cobra window motor problems

My driver's window wouldn't go up today. It has never acted up before. I checked fuses and noticed that when I pushed the switch to go down, I could hear a click like a relay under the dash. I never did find a relay though. I removed the switch module from the door, and checked for voltage at the switch. I had 12 volts coming into the switch and when I activated the switch, I had 9.6 volts going out towards the motor. I could not hear any kind of noise from the motor area. I then removed the door panel to access the motor. Once I got the panel off I found that the speaker was held in with rivets that had to be drilled out so I could actually get to the motor. I tried activating the switch again, and surprise! the window went up. I ran the window up and down several times while wiggling wires to see if it would quit again. Still working. Has anyone else had this happen? Anything I should look for? I suspect the motor may be going bad and I guess I shook the door enough to make it start working. I dont want to replace the motor unnecessarily, but I dont want to be stuck out somewhere with the window stuck open in the rain or something.

Had this happen to me twice. Since you hear the "clicking", it isn't the fuse or the swich. Although it could be the motor, this was my remedy.

Take off the door panel and the plastic sheet to reveal the two window motor mount bolts (Just left of the speaker on the bottom of the door) Loosen them, don't remove, then try the window.
If still persists, take a rubber hammer and lightly "tap" the motor from the interior panel of the door. I know, I know, but my theory is that the motor "torques" the cabling too tight....plus it is a hell of alot easier than removing the window motor. Hope it works for you, did for me then two years later (last week) it did it to me again.

A trick that I stumbled on and also later read: open the driver's side door, hold down on the switch in the "UP" mode, slam door. My window is intermittent. It seems like the motor gets stuck on a "dead" spot once in a while.

I also recently had the same issues. I could hear a clicking noise when i hit the button but the window would not move. I followed Dagkirks instructions and it worked. Seemed like it was jammed between the motor and the teeth. What a poor design. Thanks for the advice....
