Default Gears on a 1999 supercharged Mustang cobra

Hi everyone, this is my first post on the forum. I was planning on upgrading my cobra with 4.10 gears but then decided to add a Vortech supercharger. Now I was told that getting gears that low (higher number ratio) with a blown engine would be a mistake. I plan on using the car mainly for daily street driving, with rare trips to the track. The same person suggested I use 3.73's with a blown engine. Please provide any input to this problem. Thanks!

Wait, 4.10s are too low, so use 3.73s? It depends what you want. If it's a manual, and a daily driver mostly, I'd go with 3.73's. 4.10's while rob your gas milage when you're constantly in the higher power band. Then again, with a blown cobra, I don't think gas milage is an issue..

Well due to traction issues and missing boost, ya might wanna go with 3.73. I love the setup i have on my GT but we have diff kinda blowers. But even witht he centri blowers i think 4.10 are too much, but there are some guys on here with that setup who seem to like it. But if it were me, 3.73 would be the way.

If you can get traction, 3.73 will be a good gear.

And one more thing. I don't really want to spend the money to get the car tuned right away. If I get a Speedcal from american muscle with the gears and also have the chip that comes with the Vortech Kit will I be fine as far as tuning goes. I looked into getting a speedo gear but found that 99+ mustangs must be electronically tuned.
