need a spare key - has anyone tried this ?

i need a spare key for my 98 cobra

i found this GO-PARTS.COM, Ford OEM and Motorcraft Mustang Parts For Late Model Ford and Mustang GT, LX, 5.0, COBRA, MACH1, 4.6, SVT, and SVO.

has anyone tried getting a dealer to just cut and program a blank ?

they want like a 150 bucks for the key and everything and that just seems ridiculous to me

just bring the tittle to your ford dealer and they should make you a new key.it will work on doors only

i needed a spare key i got it cut at a store that cuts keys but i just wanted it to unlock my doors if u need it for the ignition i think u can only go to a dealer

I know my 96 cobra requires and electronic key for the car to run otherwise the pcm just kills it. Also i have a go-parts key for my car and it works just fine for the ignition.

Program a new Ford PATS Key

I bought a spare off Ebay, had it cut at Walmart, and programmed it myself.
