don't really know how the computer knows when its bad. If you do a vaccum test on the egr, it should hold vaccum, if not, the reading on the gauge will decrease meaning the valve has produced a leak. also if you push the valve up, it should come down with ease. if not, its sticking.

Thanks "D"
I was beginning to think that this is another problem i would have to figure out , myself. Now i'm just curiuos as to why its(the egr) only on one one side of the motor and not both sides.

Default Did you fix your problem?

I have the same code and was wondering if you had an idle surge at all like I do? Were you able to fix the problem? I'm planning to take out the EGR valve and clean it to see if that can't do the trick before replacing it.

"jstang",

I never really had any problems other than poor gas mileage. you see, i put a set of headers on my car, then i took off the down-tube that would normally connect the header to the egr and capped both ends.. The reason i have'nt replaced it yet is because i'm planning to install a "phenolic spacer" ( iether 1/2 inch or 1 inch thick) that will raise my upper manifold hieght wich will require a longer down tube. i have new "high temp" tubing but have not ordered the spacer yet.. have you checked your IAC ( idle air controll) valve??
