I've always had good luck with the BBK X-pipe. I've installed it on two Fox Mustangs, and both times was extremely pleased with the fit, function, and sound.

Not sure about the X-pipe for your '99, but the Fox one is adjustable, and allows you to compensate for any exhaust leaks.

The sound is very deep and somewhat raspy--it's also pretty loud (going through Flowmaster 40s).

I DID know the difference , wich lead me to choose the x-pipe. sorry i dont remember what it was (its been 3 years). I have 2 1/2 inch (2)chamber 40 series "delta-flows" that raspy tone yet distinctively mustang..always turns heads , gets compliments. not loud and obnocious like those others.

H pipe if you want the muscle car sound. I am not a big fan of Xs because I do not care for the raspy sound, I prefer a rumble.
A friend of mine has a bassani X pipe with Borla exhaust on his '04 GT and it is just a little too raspy for me at high rpms.
Just my opinion...........to each his own......

The x-pipe is for top end power and the h-pipe is for bottom end power. i would choose the x pipe because it scavenges better imo, and it really woke up my car after i removed my old h pipe,,, my 2 cents

I've got a H pipe and love it. it gives it that rumble sound during acceleration.
